Daily Prompt: But No Cigar

I feel like I just answered this yesterday.  Why are similar prompts within a day of each other??

Daily Prompt: Tell us about a time things came this close to working out… but didn’t. What happened next? Would you like the chance to try again, or are you happy with how things eventually worked out?

Actually this just happened, like a few weeks ago over Christmas holidays.  I don’t really want to fully discuss it because I didn’t really tell everyone who might see this blog.  But it was a huge thing and I was very discouraged for about a week until I started to move past it and look at my options.

If nothing else, it has shown me I need to work harder for what I want.  I need to get off the computer (just a minute), I need to focus on the task at hand, I need to put away all the other distractions, spend more time at home being productive and less time spending money I don’t have.  (Have you checked out my Destash page yet?)

For New Years one of my resolutions/goals was to try for a regular yoga practice.  About 2 years ago I was swapping 1 hour of massage therapy for 1 hour of yoga a week with the instructor.  For some reason, I just sort of quit that.  I didn’t fully love yoga, but I could tell a difference between exercising with yoga, and not doing anything.  Now I don’t do anything, no exercise.  Anyway, doing yoga has so many benefits, many of which include concentration and subjecting your body to stress and teaching it to relax.  All things that could benefit my “so close” moment.

I also started reading a book, Help Me Find a Career: Strategies to Choose Work You Will Love by Janet Scarborough Civitelli, PhD.  The first chapter was most enlightening, the author suggested having more than one method of receiving income.  Don’t put all your eggs in one basket, essentially.  Because what if it doesn’t work out?  You might be left with nothing, I certainly was feeling like that over Christmas when all of this went down.  After I read that, I have been looking for other ways to make small bits of income.  I have found a few that I work on a little everyday.  They aren’t big money makers, but its more than I had before!  In fact, I’m making a little bit right now as I write this, and it has nothing to do with this blog!

So to sum it up, it was horrible at the time, but I am working through it and hope to be better off because of it.

Daily Prompt: All Its Cracked Up to Be

Daily Prompt: Tell us about a time when everything actually turned out exactly as you’d hoped.

I really couldn’t tell you the last time something went exactly as planned.  And I certainly don’t think thats a bad thing.

Usually it is a learning experience and more often than that, a fun one!

Like the large scale painting I made and have yet to completely unveil and share with you.  Totally forgot to share the photos!  Whoops.

It most definitely didn’t go exactly as planned, the drawings took longer to finalize, I had to YouTube a bunch of new techniques, I had to buy supplies just about every day (because I use coupons), and the glazing process took almost a week- and that doesn’t include drying time!  And while that totally took longer than the initial 3 weeks I had hoped for, I still think it turned out amazing and I absolutely am proud of all the work I did!  I promise to share it with you soon so you all can see its awesomeness as well!

I suppose I could share a snippet….actually here is one of the progress photos, I’ll save the more detailed photos for my reveal!

Daily Prompt: Singular Sensation

Daily Prompt: If you could have a guarantee that one, specific person was reading your blog, who would you want that person to be? Why? What do you want to say to them?

I can’t think of anyone super awesome that I would definitely want to read my blog.

It would be nice to be “found” though.  If a graphic design headhunter was out searching for that one perfect creative person to fill their digital artwork void, I would love them to find me.  It might be hard though, I have only shared a small portion of my digital artwork on here.  I was hoping to pursue my digital artwork more this year, share it with everyone, as well as open up a shop for it.

Daily Prompt: Ripped from the Headlines

Daily Prompt: Click over to whatever website you visit most frequently to get news. Find the third headline on the page. Make sure that headline is in your post.

I read Jezebel a lot.  I like the opinion stories, sometimes the comments are good, and usually its a story about injustices with a feminine-edge to it.  I wouldn’t call myself a feminist in the way that most people assume all feminists hate men.  However I would say I am all about equal-opportunity for everyone.

The 3rd headline on that page is Six Moments From the Golden Globes That Made Me Question Reality

Not bad, of course I didn’t watch the Golden Globes so I have no idea what they are talking about in any of those moments.  I also didn’t watch a few of those movies, so no help there.

I do love Jennifer Lawrence though, so anything about her is a win in my book!

Don’t forget!  I am destashing my supplies: jewelry findings and all different types of beads!  Take a look, you never know what you’ll find!

True Blue Me & You: Doable Unique DIYs

If you are unfamiliar with this blog, it is SO FUN!  I am addicted to DIYs, and I don’t do that many yet, but I LOVE to read about them and find more.  My Pinterest boards are FULL of so many types of DIYs.  I have often thought about having a blog that only shares super awesome DIYs and tutorials.  But there are already a lot of blogs that do just that.

Besides, I am so inconsistent and unorganized.  I would really need to up my game to have a blog like she does.  Though I might someday open a Tumblr blog, maybe when I have time to take more photos of things.

So there you go!

PAD: Five a Day

Daily Prompt:  You’ve being exiled to a private island, and your captors will only supply you with five foods. What do you pick?

5 Foods I would want on my private island?  In this private island exile I will pretend I am not gluten-free…..after making my choices, apparently it doesn’t matter.  I guess I don’t miss gluten-foods as much as I think I do when I am out to eat.
