Daily Prompt: Lucky Star

Daily Prompt: Today is your lucky day. You get three wishes, granted to you by The Daily Post. What are your three wishes and why?

1. To win the lottery: so I can stop worrying about money for awhile and just focus on what needs doing and what I love to do.

2. To get 5 more hours every day: then I can sleep in and still have ample time for studying, working, and playing.

3. To enjoy my favorite full wheat beers again: I’ll give up the rest of the food, but I would love to go to a bar and just grab a beer and enjoy.

Daily Prompt: Generation XYZ

Daily Prompt:  Think about the generation immediately younger or older than you. What do you understand least about them — and what can you learn from them?

iGaIDSP

I had to Google which Generation I am considered.  I was born in 1983, and according to several websites, I am not a Generation X like I had previously thought, those people were born 1960-1980.  Generation Y must be 1981-2000s.  Thats if we are being technical, but I gotta say, I do not feel like a Gen Y category person.

I find it so surprising how kids born in the 1990s-2000s (and beyond) tend to be such bullies.  I honestly don’t think it was so bad when I was growing up, and not because I wasn’t teased or picked on.  I certainly was.  There was a girl in grade school and high school who constantly teased me because I was so skinny.  I got so fed up I called her fat.  Now obviously that is taken differently and I felt bad saying it, because she wasn’t, but I was sick of being picked on for my body type.  I asked her to stop talking to me for weeks before I finally said that, and then she did stop talking to me.

I’m getting off subject.  Maybe I just hear about it more now that I am older, but so often kids are bullying each other to the point of suicide.  In the most tolerant generation of racial and stereotypical manners, the younger children (Gen Z?) are such extreme bullies.  Facebook pages like ….OMG now I can’t find them on my page…geez.

Anyway, I can’t believe we have to make pages about how we support people different from ourselves and there are people commenting about how “insert bad word” these feelings and lifestyles are.  Just because it differs from your lifestyle or belief system.  Makes me sad.

Basically same subject for the older generations.  Naturally, there are some good eggs in both generations.

What City Should You Actually Live In? Buzzfeed Quiz

I read sayyestohappy the blog (and so should you), and today one of the ladies took the What City Should You Actually Live In? Quiz from Buzzfeed.  She seemed to enjoy it, so I took it too!

I got Cape Town:

You have never been able to sit still a single day in your life. An avid adventurer you are always looking for the most unconventional way to do things. You love city life, but couldn’t imagine life without getting out into nature every once in a while. Cape Town is calling.

Interesting choice for me.  I absolutely love to be busy and go out and experience new things!  I love to meet new people and its true, I do love the city life!  I had a blast in NYC when I visited.  I love to be able to walk out my door and walk down the street to shops or friend’s houses (back in the college days this was easier).  But I also have to have my time with trees and flowers and gardens.  I love to spend time outside in parks and around wonderfully smelling flowers and tending to a garden.

I literally know nothing about Cape Town.  I guess I will have to read up on it!  It certainly is quite pretty!

Daily Prompt: Predictions

Daily Prompt: There are 344 days remaining in the year. Describe what you’d like to be doing on day 211. (Hint: that’s July 30th.)

On July 30th I will be at the end of my first or starting my second round of clinicals.  Right now it feels so far away, but I know it will move so fast and suddenly it will be July (when clinicals officially start) and something huge and new will be starting!  I am so nervous and scared, of course I still have several classes to take yet that will fill in the therapy-blanks that I know nothing about!

Learning about Musculoskeletal and Kinesiology right now, is helping with Manual Muscle Testing, Range of Motion, and PNF Techniques.  PNF Techniques have to do with moving in the diagonal plane, that’s in the simplest terms I can do!  Think putting on your seat belt and pulling a sword from your belt.  They are awkward movements, but necessary for rehab work.

I still have PTA Techniques and the other half of Musculoskeletal coming up before clinicals, so there’s lots to learn still!

So on that Wednesday, July 30th, I should be in a clinic somewhere working as a Student Physical Therapist Assistant!
