Daily Prompt: Generation XYZ

Daily Prompt:  Think about the generation immediately younger or older than you. What do you understand least about them — and what can you learn from them?

I had to Google which Generation I am considered.  I was born in 1983, and according to several websites, I am not a Generation X like I had previously thought, those people were born 1960-1980.  Generation Y must be 1981-2000s.  Thats if we are being technical, but I gotta say, I do not feel like a Gen Y category person.

I find it so surprising how kids born in the 1990s-2000s (and beyond) tend to be such bullies.  I honestly don’t think it was so bad when I was growing up, and not because I wasn’t teased or picked on.  I certainly was.  There was a girl in grade school and high school who constantly teased me because I was so skinny.  I got so fed up I called her fat.  Now obviously that is taken differently and I felt bad saying it, because she wasn’t, but I was sick of being picked on for my body type.  I asked her to stop talking to me for weeks before I finally said that, and then she did stop talking to me.

I’m getting off subject.  Maybe I just hear about it more now that I am older, but so often kids are bullying each other to the point of suicide.  In the most tolerant generation of racial and stereotypical manners, the younger children (Gen Z?) are such extreme bullies.  Facebook pages like ….OMG now I can’t find them on my page…geez.

Anyway, I can’t believe we have to make pages about how we support people different from ourselves and there are people commenting about how “insert bad word” these feelings and lifestyles are.  Just because it differs from your lifestyle or belief system.  Makes me sad.

Basically same subject for the older generations.  Naturally, there are some good eggs in both generations.
